I am appealing to you as a friend.  Please do not drag the
Philippines to the gutter.  It is high time to take the
honorable way out. It is giving filipinos a real bad rap
out here.

The time to demand the president's resignation is after the
constitutional processes have failed to address the
issues.  Raising the issue of morality as the new standard
in judging whether a president has the right to continue to
govern is a dangerous precendent.  It legitimizes the role
of religious leaders to influence the conduct of civil
society.  It may be inevitable that the division between
the Church and State will be erased and that political
decisions will be decided by Catholic Church, INC, Velarde
and other self-professed moralists.

It's an absolute total shame having a (president?) like
him running a beautiful country who is bobo, magnanakaw,
liar  And a total pea brain!  Where is your delicadeza mr.
Erap?  You are not fit to be called president because you

don't have the ability to run a country not even a
barangay.  Cars have more brains than you do!

Estrada ought to step down. I used to work in the tourism
industry, which had suffered greatly since the actor-turned
politico became the president of the Philippines. I noted
decreased tourist arrivals and many of my colleagues in the
industry have felt the crunch. Erap's monumental decision
not to host the World Expo when he came to power - on the
pretext that the Philippines was bankrupt - foreshadowed
the downfall of the fledgling Philippine tourism industry.
Although the people at the DOT are trying their best to put
a good show, as long as Erap is in power and after all the
shenanigans that have taken place (like the Jolo hostage
crisis) and all the scandals rocking the nation, who would
like to spend a vacation in the Philippines? While waiting
for the Erap storm to blow over and the tourism climate to
improve, I concentrated on writing a book about Basilan,
whereI have spent four months doing research. Believe me, a
lot of the people there are saying that they felt betrayed
by Erap. Many of the people who had voted for him told me
of their frustration: "Erap para lalong humirap!"
What could be worse than a big fat alligator?....A starved
"tuko" named Erap....

I'm an ofw from saudi arabia we have a common grieve
regarding the ongoing economic crisis in our country and
the president seems that he is not affected with it cause
untill now he does not show or discuss any solution
regarding the said problem. We believe that he is not
capable to govern a country or even just a baranggay cause
he might as well put his constituent fortune in a gamling
way.

Last Saturday, Nov. 11, there are more than 20 buses on the
street of F. Sevilla St., San Juan,

Dear Sir/ Madame,

May the blessings of our Lord be with you and your family!

I am a senior student studying in Makati and I have been
observing the events that is shocking our nation. I don't
consider myself as a Pro-Erap or an Anti-Erap supporter. I
am just concerned of our countries future. And I got some
questions in mind that needs to be answered.

1) Since the 1998 presidential elections and up to now,
Cardinal Sin has been against Pres. Estrada's morality. The
Arch-Bishop said that our president should be of good moral
character. Cardinal Sin never supported Erap and if ever he
did, he did it only for his own interest. And now Cardinal
Sin and some of our nation's top leaders are leading
protest rallies against Erap. Now tell me, where is the
morality in that?

2) Since priests are supposed to be of good moral
character, Why don't Cardinal Sin run for presidency and
try ruling our country?

3) Since the Impeachment case is now filed, why do some
rally groups are still asking Erap to resign? Are they
scared that Pres. Estrada would win the case? This clearly
shows that these people are completely against Erap the

Person and not Erap the President.

4) VP Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is in favor of ousting
President Estrada, right? In my opinion, she mustn't take
any sides because she would be the next president. And her
actions clearly shows that she wants the top position very
much. Tama ba naman yun?

Thank You,
Anthony

His main support is the masses as shown by yesterday's
luneta crowd. But based on his press conference with the
FOCAP last friday, i don't think he could endure the
questioning on the trial unless the senators will be soft
on him.
Anyway, he may not step down today but he will, once he
runs out of alibis for his obvious involvement in the
scandal. His lawyers though will surely have a hard time.

**@charlessmail.com (Charles Lynel)
Mr. Erap, please make the ultimate sacrifice, resign and
save your country from impending unrest and civil strife.I
hope your conscience bothers you.

Dapat lang patalsikin 'yan si Estrada. Nakakahiya sa
community of nations. Nakilala tayo sa mundo nang
patalsikin natin si Marcos. Ginaya ng ilang bansa ang
ginawa natin.

-----

**@unilab.com.phHow (jose, jr.)
How can the opposition neutralize the seeming massive
support given to erap during the luneta rally and televised
to the whole world?Worldwide perception
is that Erap is still favored by the ma-jority of Filipinos
since those who attended the rally represents a broader
cross-section of the people,as compared
to the Edsa rally.

-----

**@angelfire.com ( Leonard Peejay)
It is very evident that the President is already buying his
way through the hearts of the people. Last Saturday, October
11, lots of people were paid just to attend the rally for
the aid of the president, P250 each. But why does the
people, those that are paid to attend, allow this creature
to manipulate them and control them like toys? It is
because they are in need of money. And they'd do anything
to have it. Even if they help ruin a particularly great
country.

I believe that people should stand for their right, for
their honor and for those people around them. We should
stand hand in hand. As we know, a single powerful person,
like our president can break a country. Even though his not
actually as great as he seems ( actually, he's not great at
all, my baby sister can handle a country better than him )
Thus, a single nation can break a person, as well as make a
country rise again.

We should forget our differences, instead we should see
that our differences are the tools that can help build a
great country.

So forget about the economical margins, and the religion of
the person. This is not actually the time to fight. (
Actually, to fight is the last thing in my mind )Let us
kick the weak link out.......... It's just time to take
what is truly ours.

If only I was old enough to votei might have made a
difference.

Like everyone else in this country, I am closely following
what we can actually quote as "history in the making". It
is our responsibility as citizens of our country to be
fully aware of all the things happening to our country
right now--and to make a stand. I believe that right now,
we should learn how to solve our country's problems one at
a time. We are facing one of the worst economic problems in
Philippine history, and our attention is not fully
concentrated on solving this--but on having Erap removed
from his position. But right now, since an impeachment case
was filed against the president, I think he deserves a fair
impeachment trial and a chance to prove himself guilty or
innocent. Let's give him the "benefit of the doubt" and
hope that the outcome of this impeachment trial will do our
country good. He has his rights too--let's be willing to let
him exercise his rights as a citizen of our country. Let God
decide the outcome of this otherwise confusing incident. May
god help the philippines. >> ^o*

being half filipino somewhat makes me care about what's
going on in the philippines.
i've studied there, and been there countless times. a lot
has change, but the only thing that did not is politics.
like my mom, she like many filipino seemed not to have
learned from previous mistakes. she like estrada because
she thinks he is what role he plays in the movies. he's
popular. it doesn't matter wether he's qualified to hold
office or he'll just be playing roles. the only thing that
seemed to matter is that "asyong salonga" is for the good
of the "masa". just like in the "movies". the way you
choose, and the way politician view being elected as the
easiest way to get rich, has somewhat been like a custom.
part of the filipino culture. and why can't you change
that? it's always been like that, and i think it's always
gonna be like that. filipino just can't seem to remember,
how easily you forget.
times like this makes me wanna think wether i am, or at
least want to be.

Really don't know why Pinoy politicians are corrupt. Is
this the mentally of a true PILIPINO? Philippine Presidents
nowadays are truly getting into corruptions and i guess we
Filipinos should suffer for hundred of decades more.Mr
Estrada should really step down and apologize to the entire
Pinoys. Somehow, this way he'll be respected in the eyes of
the public.Although this would not happen,i'm sure the next
president to be will be as corrupt as the others. This time;
they may run corruptions in a very careful and simple way,
in order not to be revealed. The poverty in this country i
truly loved will never improve until the day i die.I feel
sorry to the coming generations.

President Estrada doesn't deserve to be called president.
Look at what Mr. Singson said on the media"engot pala
siya...tanga talaga siya" this words shows no respect to
the person he is pertaining to which is Joseph. The dumbest
person on earth unfortunately came from the Philippines.
Joseph Estrada you don't deserve any sympathy from anybody,
even to your called "Masa". you were voted by the "Masa" our
own people under the poverty level. Can't you figured it
out, majority of our people falls under the poverty level
and that's your "Masa" who looked upon you as their
saviour. You think you have a chance to win an election if
our country is in good shape? I don't think so. Our people
are not dumb enough to vote for you. Where's your
compassion to the poor. You like the poor...poor"u"alak,
poor"u" tong". Your resignation will not do anything good
to you, you're done. i hope the military will take charge
and listen to the majority. I wish after you resigned
charges will still be brought to you. Listen countrymen,
even if he resigns this charges to the pilipino people as a
whole should continue. Let him go to prison.

The timing of Erap's admission  of taking the  jueteng
money is a suspect. Why did he make such an admission
immediately before his scheduled rally ?
Erap's justification in taking the money (that it was
for a noble cause) and his denial that he had no prior
knowledge about it may be lame. But if he can still show an
overwhelming support from the masses then that should
override any objection to his claim. He has made his
confession and the masses absolved him. Then again he can

say that his life is an open book and that the people had
voted for him and continues to support him.

-----

**@yahoo.com (jose dennis )

We should give the president a chance to defend himself in
court or congress. Anyway given the recklessness and
tactlessness of his statement he may just end up
implicating himself and be the first president in
philippines history to bow out of office dishonorably. I do
not support the resign campaign because this is
unconstitutional

I was on my way home today, upon passing by Quirino Hwy. I
noticed 4 bus loads of tourist busses passing thru Quirino

I saw the bus in front with a streamer Mga mahihirap para

We face a problem not with criticism but with solution.
Just like in the western world bets are taxed that
eventually contribute to
public funds for public use.
We have to ask for legalization of virtually all games of
Pinoy. "
Saying so, we must face the cause of this problem and look
for solution such as, legalizing all sort of games of
chance. And give chance to benefitting the public and needy
through levying taxes. Instead of one single individual or a
few select individuals be alleged, totoo man o hindi, to
benefit from such pay-off, why not legalize and get that
payment in the form of taxes to the kaban ng bayan.

As far as I know, all public officials are prohibited from
accepting bribe from any person under Philippine laws. The
President, as the highest official in the land, should be
the first to know this. The FACT that he accepted the P200
Million from Chavit and still has the money is enough proof
that he violated the law. Whether he spent it or not is
immaterial.

least inciting to sedition, by pitting
poor against the rich, and the Christians
against the Muslims, or other church
denominations. How short people's recall
of the time when this kind of charge was
levelled against Dick Gordon, allegedly
for preventing the execution of a presidential
order to vacate his SBMA post and give it
to PAyumo. Now, even Miriam is considering
charging GMA for this crime.

To whom it may concern,

I'm one of the many working OCW's here in Taiwan and aware
of events that's happening around our country especially on
the political and government front.

The "jueteng scandal" issue being hurled against Erap
clearly demonstrates the true color of how democracy works
and how transparent the current administration is.. I'm not
a pro-Estrada on this side but i just want to share my
opinion on this matter.

Erap was already bombarded by various accusations even
before on his very first day in office.... We all are
witnesses to those accusations, either in the newspaper,
radio or television and yet no one dared to directly
address and handed them to the right authority (judiciary
system).

This current dilemma our country is facing are being made
known and broadcasted overseas to other countries. The

strikes, finger pointings, counter accusations and
political manueverings add to that the worsening economic
conditions are hurting our motherland and us (OCW's)
working in other countries. Honestly, we're trying to keep
a good image of our motherland here in Taiwan but from what
they're seeing and reading of what's happening in our
country was not helping our cause.

I would not say that Erap is guilty or not guilty of the
'expose' done by Mr. Singson, we have the proper authority
to investigate this issue. My point here is.... let the
proper authority and our constitutional process decide on
this matter and let's stop the strikes, finger pointing and
barkings for now.

The anti-Erap wanted to be heard and they have been
heard... now, it's time to rest and put this matter
accordingly to the judiciary and legislative body and let
them decide on this matter... If the anti-Erap would decide
to continue on with their strikes and propagandas (and the
media covering those events), these will only put so much
mess on the image of our country and would be seen globally.

I'm appealing to all my brothers and sisters... we have
been heard and the matter is now on the hands of the right
authority. If Erap is guilty or not would be known in
immediate future... So, let's stop now any untoward actions
on the streets because this is not helping each one of us.

Let's now try to regain our pride and help us to show this
with our neighboring countries. Let's help each other to
show to the world that our Philippines is an orderly and a
peaceful country.

Salamat.

Regards,

Romy Colima // Sr. QA-Engineer
Taiwan.

You may post my email address and I will welcome any
feedback that may arise on this.

At the current situation of the Philippine economy, what
President Estrada should realize is that the issue of
whether he is guilty or not is no longer a priority. The
people and the business world has lost its confidence to
his Administration, and the only best thing to do is a
graceful exit, otherwise we will see this economic crisis
dragging from poor to worse.

who voted President Estrada.  They were shamely blinded by
the fact that Pres. Estrada won't give the country a good

Look where your President put our country, into a worst

of the Philippines so stained with
corruption with the likes of his past
predecessor: the infamous Pres.Marcos
would cling to power with dear life.

His insensitivity to the suffering of

I could only hope he sees this. No, he can't.
He is blinded by the Millions of Dollars
