"Tapping
the Creative
Universe 2" with Jim Paredes

July 13, 2003

1 to 8 p.m.
Courtyard by Marriott
550 Shell Boulevard (across Costco)
Foster City
DUE to public demand, Jim Paredes will hold his popular workshop
again on Sunday, July 13 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Foster
City.
Paredes, a member of the enduring APO Hiking Society, the
Philippines' foremost trio known for original compositions
and political satire, has evolved in between concerts, songwriting,
arranging and producing, into a teacher. Paredes incorporates
Zen thoughts and the practices of creativity guru Julia Cameron
in inspiring his students. His thirty years of fruitful association
with his two other buddies in APO, Boboy Garovilla and Danny
Javier, and their colorful experiences together are some of
the sources of his epiphanies and heartwarming anecdotes.
Paredes recently became a published photographer, and author
("Humming In My Universe: Random Takes on Everything
and Between Blinks"). He teaches at the Ateneo de Manila
University in Manila, and runs creativity workshops for corporations
and community groups.
The half-day workshop starts with an interactive session that
includes activities to draw out from participants their dormant
creative nature and thus "introduce new and exciting
possibilities that will make them more productive in their
daily lives." Included are guided meditation and dream
drawing, and exercises that will attempt to get participants
to identify the blocks that stand in the way of their dreams.
"Tapping the Creative Universe 2" is presented by
EasterWorks. The workshop runs from 1 to 8 p.m. and is open
to the public. Seats are limited. The 45-dollar fee includes
snacks and workshop materials. For reservations, please call
+650 278-0256.
