Filipino Veteran's Foundation
Fund-raising dinner-dance

July 26, 2003

LAX Radisson Hotel
Los Angeles, California

THE FILIPINO Veteran's Foundation will mark the 62nd anniversary of the United States Armed Forces of the Far East (USAFFE) with a fundraising dinner-dance at the LAX Radisson Hotel on Saturday, July 26.

The event will also honor the Filipino veterans who served under the USAFFE command with the launching of a development and building fund campaign for the Bayani (Heroes) Center to be located in the Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles.

The Erasto R. Batongmalaqué Foundation (The Filipino Veterans' Foundation) has formed partnerships with corporate sponsors, community groups and other non-profit organizations, members of the U.S. legislature, and other public officials to provide much needed services to the rapidly declining numbers of aging Filipino veterans.

A key feature of the Black and White Gala is for an invited guest to sponsor a Filipino veteran to the event as a tangible means of recognizing and honoring his war sacrifices that we may enjoy freedom today.

The 18-piece Citrus Swing Band will play jazz from the big band era and relive for the veterans the wartime USO shows. The Midnight Motion band will also be on hand to dish out disco and more contemporary tunes.

Memorabilia and displays of the USAFFE starting from its creation in the summer of 1941 and including the exploits of its soldiers in Bataan and Corregidor will be provided by the California Museum of Military History. The event will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. with a no-host bar mixer at the ballroom foyer. Formal attire is required.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Bayani Center building and development fund. ERB Foundation is a non-profit organization and all donations and contributions are tax-deductible under the 501(c)3 provision of the tax code. Please consult your CPA. For other details, please contact Dr. Jenny Batongmalaque at tel. no. +213 746-9093 or e-mail drjenny@erbfoundation.org.
