Overseas Absentee Vote Registration

ATTENTION: All Filipinos in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut. You can now register to vote in the 2004 Philippine elections under "The Overseas Voting Act of 2003." This consular outreach program will also include passport processing (renewal and replacement of lost passports), visa issuance, administering of oath for those who want to reacquire their Filipino citizenship (and become dual citizens), and authentication and acknowledgment of documents.


Qualifications for voter registration:

Filipino citizens (or naturalized American citizens who take an oath of allegiance) at least 18 years of age on the day of the election on May 10, 2004.

Documents required:

1. For voter registration (no fee):
Valid Philippine passport or substitute documents (including expired passport if available; birth certificate issued by the NSO; and documents to show status and identity such as driver's license,
social security card, etc.)

Green card for immigrants (immigrants will also be asked to sign a declaration of intent to return)

For seafarers: Seaman's Book

2. For reacquisition of Filipino citizenship (no fee but a 25-dollar notarial fee for administering the oath applies):

Duly authenticated birth certificate from the NSO or any of the following:
o Expired Philippine passport
o US passport
o Naturalization certificate
