THE FILIPINO Business Alliance, an organization of professionals
in the fields of business, law, finance, technology and venture
capital, presents its second network mixer and seminar on
June 5.
The speakers are David Guo, managing partner, 3rd Wave Ventures
and OCSF
Ventures; Dennis Fernandez, Esq., Fernandez and Associates,
LLP; and Denny
Roja, Esq., Acuity Ventures II LLC. The seminar is for anyone
who wishes to arm up on running a smooth entrance to managing
a company whether it be on technology, health care, food,
services, retailing or other such industries. This is an opportunity
to learn from a couple of experts both seasoned San Francisco
Bay Area venture capitalists.
This seminar is a primer to help understand the basic pitching
skills and closing techniques one can successfully employ
when accessing the private capital markets. It summarizes
the fundamentals of the engagement, and due diligence, giving
you a perspective on how to present the "must have"
points so you can create a fundable venture. Understand the
aspects of developing an "elevator" pitch, a tag
line, and a fully developed Q&A response to targeted investors.
This seminar will outline the method of approaching funding
sources, the techniques used by private investors to validate
the potential of your business, and the decision-making process
used by venture capitalists and other sources of capital.
Learn how seasoned entrepreneurs and financiers and venture
capitalists think through issues associated with turning a
concept into a product and a business. Understand what to
look for in a great idea and determine its potential to become
a great product. Learn how to develop the basic structure
of your value proposition and how to navigate through the
pitfalls, issues, risks and challenges every entrepreneur
must consider when creating a new business. Understand the
various financing options and sources and get some guidance
on how to build a winning team.
