Asian-American Music
Business Workshop
March 19, 2004
7 p.m.
Renaissance Center
275 5th Street
San Francisco, California
KICKING off a four-part series, "The Role of a Record
Label in Your Career as a Recording Artist" music business
workshop takes place on Friday, March 19. The first workshop
will be presented by Reno Ursal, CEO of Rhythm Drive Records,
a young independent record label that is home to recording
artists Alvendia, DJ Midimack, and Malyssa.
Ursal has been contributing significantly to the growth of
the Asian-American music industry in the San Francisco Bay
Area. He also participated in the first Asian American Music
Conference (AAMC) as one of the guest speakers. The goal of
this workshop is to tackle how a record label can aid, and
sometimes be a detriment, to an artist's growth in the music
industry. The workshop will be held at the Renaissance Center
at 275 5th Street in San Francisco and the cost is 10 dollars.
This event is part of a four-part workshop and a 10-city
networking mixer series, all leading up to the 2nd Annual
AAMC, which takes place on Saturday, November 13. The AAMC
was created to unify and strengthen the Asian-American music
communities nationally. This year's conference will include
workshops, panels, information booths, educational resources
and networking
opportunities for all Asian-Americans pursuing a career in
the music industry. The AAMC will include for the first time
an Asian-American music showcase, introducing Asian-American
acts from all across the nation.
