MoneyGram launches Web
service for money transfers
By INQ7.net
MINNEAPOLIS, MN--MoneyGram Payment Systems Inc., a leading
fund transfer provider in the world, has announced the launch
of an Internet service for its money transfers. The new service,
called MoneyGram e-Money Transfer, allows consumers to send
money transfers through personal computers by simply logging
on to www.moneygram.com and debiting their bank accounts or
by paying with credit or debit cards. Recipients can then
pick up the funds the same day at any of MoneyGram's 68,000
agent locations around the globe.
Customers will still have the standard option of sending
a money transfer by simply taking cash to a convenient MoneyGram
agent location where trained staff can assist with the transaction.
The Philippines has more than 1,100 MoneyGram agent locations,
including such well-known names as Equitable PCI, PeraGram,
RCBC, Bank of Commerce and the Philippine Post Office. Customers
in the Philippines can locate a convenient location by visiting
the agent locator at www.moneygram.com or calling MoneyGram's
toll-free customer service number at 1-800-955-7777.
"We expect the Internet service will be very popular
with many of our busy customers who now will be able to send
money around the world at any hour of the day from the convenience
of their personal computers," Phil Milne, chief executive
officer of Travelers Express Co. Inc., MoneyGram's parent
company, said in a press statement.
"But no matter which method customers choose -- standard
or Internet service -- they will always find MoneyGram service
is affordable, reliable and convenient," he added.
MoneyGram has more than 68,000 agents in 160 countries. The
company is owned by Travelers Express Co. Inc., a subsidiary
of Viad Corp (NYSE:VVI). For more information or to locate
