Government to push
for websites in provinces

PILI, Camarines Sur--The government will push for the creation of websites for provincial governments as part of the Administrative Network Program of the Estrada administration, a top Malacañang official assured public information officers from 45 provinces who attended the 2nd National Convention of Public Communicators Association.

Fernando Gagilonia, Bureau of Broadcast Services director, said within the next two years, the Estrada administration will enable the local governments to have access to either a microwave or satellite link information network.

Gagilonia, however, said the government would select regional and provincial hubs so that the links will become accessible to the various provinces.

Press Secretary Rodolfo Reyes confirmed that the government is now ready to handle projects regarding the upgrading of government information network up to the grassroots level.--Juan Escandor Jr., PDI Southern Luzon Bureau Up arrow
