IT was Mom's birthday. Everyone was busy except us because we were thinking of a gift for Mom. Laraine thought of giving her a leather bag.

Laura thought of a mug. So we drew lots. Laraine won the lottery. So we took our money and counted if it were enough. 

There was not enough money to buy the leather bag, so we decided to buy a mug instead. We asked our dad if he could drive us to the store.

He said yes. When we arrived at the store we asked if they had any mugs.

The storekeeper said that there was none. So we asked if he had any gift wrappers, boxes and long ribbons. 

"There are gift wrappers but no ribbons, no boxes," she said. We bought a gift wrapper and went out to check the store next door. We asked for a long pink, yellow or red ribbon. The owner of the store said that there was one pink ribbon so we bought the long ribbon for tying on the box. 

It was a nice ribbon so we went to a box store. There were very few people in the store.
