In Defense of
Pocket Monsters

DEAR Editor,

This is in reaction to March 11 letter on Pokémon devotees. I don't think Pokémon is that influential on students or that it makes other kids forget about their studies. apr29l1.jpgI think kids also learn things from these cartoons, like the value of friendship and determination in achieving one's goal. The "Pokémon" show isn't really violent either. The villains aren't even truly "evil." It's just that they have a lot of bad luck and they're often very petty.--EMMY KRISTINE TRINIDAD, 12, St. Theresa's College
