Places an Airplane Can Take Us
By Grace Ann Cirilos

Where, oh, where can an airplane take us?
It can take us places
as far as our imagination races.

It could be Cambodia in Asia,
Colombia in South Africa,
or Ghana in Africa.

It can take us to a lot of -stans
Afghanistan, Pakistan or Kazakhstan
or even Kyrgyzstan or Uzbekistan.

It can take us to England
where the International Date Line passes
or even Argentina where Evita lives,
and maybe even to a church in the Philippines
where priests hold Masses.

These are the places an airplane can take us
we cannot reach them just by taking an ordinary bus.

A Boy Who Hates Pets
By Martin Jules P. Macario

Once upon a time there was a boy who had many pets,
Those he disliked he put in nets.
One day he went away. He stayed an hour in Rome.
Then he went inside a forest. The part he stopped was the deepest.
He met a big horse, but the horse couldn't dig a hole.

Then the boy found an elephant. But the elephant was afraid of ants.
So the boy went back home to look for his good little comb.
He let his pets out the nets, and he combed his good pets.
At last they were together, Mr. Dog said "Forever."

One day the boy went to school, he was not anymore a fool.
The teacher called the boy, and the boy said "Roy."
The teacher asked, "What are your pets?"
The boy said "Mr. And Mrs. Dog and piglets."

One night a fox came to their house, and also a mouse.
The boy and his pets helped them.
They live happily ever after.

A House
By Camille P. De Luna

A house can be pink, red, yellow or gold.
A house can keep us warm from the cold.
A house can keep us safe on rainy days.
A house can help us in many ways.
Inside it we can play.
Inside it we can pray.
But sometimes in the house,
There is a mouse.

Camille lives in White Plains, Quezon City.
