Kids Like Me
By Dominik Grace Halcon Oñate
Kids like me want to play
and run around all day;
To watch the birds, the sky and sun
and giggle just for fun.
Kids like me have a crush
Which I really don't want
to discuss
But the best part of being a kid,
Is you go to school to read.
Because if I don't go to school
I won't see my crush
and that's not cool!
My Brother
By Dominik Grace Halcon Oñate
My brother stinks
That's what I think
Of him and his silly ideas
To have a lizard house
To put in a trained mouse
He'll hug and kiss all day.
To have a chameleon
That costs half a million
Which he couldn't even find;
But I say he's okay
As long as he's far away.
The Turtle Who Never Gave Up
By Eileen Lu
Robby was a turtle, so big and green,
Just like any turtle you must have seen
But he's different. You ask me why?
It is because he really wants to fly.
Please don't say 'Of all the strangest things!'
And neither is he 'A turtle with wings?!'
For Robby, he is adopter, you see
By the red-breasted robin family.
That's why he has always wanted to fly,
Day after day, he tries and tries
He has seen them all take wing, his brothers
He wants to be with them and his sisters
No matter what, he never surrendered
His story touched the heart of those who heard
One day a fairy passed by
And she told Robby ''I can make you fly''
If you look up in the sky, you might see,
A turtle flying up, very happy
So ends the story of Robby,
The turtle who never gave up.
