Tired of News
By Mary Collene T. Daet

YEARS ago, my lola urged me to read newspapers instead of thrillers and mysteries and pocketbooks. So I did. And if I become interested in a particular news item, I would write my thoughts about it and send it to the Inquirer.

But as years passed, I found myself losing interest in reading newspapers. Why? Because it's the same news again and again: murders, rapes, drugs, diseases, low economy and consequently a plunging performance rating of the president in performance surveys. I'm so tired of news.

I'm sure that others feel the same. Is this the government for the future generation? Is this the news and information that kids will inherit? When will our government shape up and put a stop to all these problems?

I think all these bad events happened because people lack faith in God. People have turned to a nasty and cruel world and have turned away from God. The solution must be for everyone to turn back to God.
