Church
By Stephanie Ferrer

NOT many kids nowadays want to go to the church. I suppose it's because, sometimes, we really can't understand what the priest is saying. But I'm telling you, going there is really fun and great!

Now, we go to church at The Shrine of Jesus The Way, The Truth and The Life. It is at the Reclamation Area in Manila Bay. The place is very solemn and peaceful because there are no other buildings near it. In the afternoon, you can also see the sun set and the sky often looks like a dozen colors of paints. The church doesn't need any electric fans because cool air blows in from the Manila Bay. The ambiance of the place is very solemn, so you can pray without disturbance.

Msgr. Bobby Canlas is the priest there. He speaks very clearly and his homilies are all good. When you get to know him, he really is nice and he has a great sense of humor.

Last Holy Week, there were many activities, such as the procession, washing of the feet of the apostles and more. On Mother's Day, my sister and I volunteered to help give every mother a white rose and stampita or bookmark.

My parents know the priest so there was one time we went to dinner with him and other people who serve the church such as the Ladies of the Altar. When you get to know them, you'll find out that they have interesting lives and stories about how they serve the church and about their devotion to God.

Now, I can't wait for Sunday to come and go to the church. When I go to church or join church activities I feel a sense of belonging. I feel closer to God and fulfilled.
