Time to Jazz Up those
School Newspapers!!

"BLAH." If that's the first thing you say when you read your school paper, it might be time for your editors to check out these nifty suggestions. Heck, why not write to them and suggest your own school-organ-image-overhaul. Let them know EXACTLY what you want to read.

The adventures of Memeng [Memeng is our school pet...a goat.--Niko Maza , 15 , Community of Learners, Quezon City

Jap Anime reviews.--Belden Yniguez, 13, Xavier School, San Juan

Updates about our teachers and their activities. We just want to prove that their lives are not just for teaching us. --Victor Yaneza, 15, Claret School, Quezon City

I like stories about pets and animals. I love them, and I have a pet iguana.--Karynthia Auba David, 7, Chevalier School, Angeles City

I like stories about movies, because I am very fond of acting. Many times I act in front of the mirror. --Mary Anne Patdu, Santa Barbara Elementary School, Bulaon, San Fernando, Pampanga

As a writer myself, I'd like to see the feedback of the readers about the previous issues of our newspaper.--Frances Carreon, 15, Assumption College, Makati

Every time I read Seton Notes, our official school paper, I turn it to Page 7 or 8 where the "Dear Editor" section is usually located. I enjoy reading it because the comments and the suggestions of my co-Setonians regarding different issues in school (e.g. new rules being implemented, comments on upcoming events, and the like) matter to me a lot. Through this, I am also made aware of what is happening around the campus and I enjoy reading the answer of the editor (or answers from the principal/prefect asked by the editor) rather than gossip.--Nemar B. Manalo, 11, Elizabeth Seton School, Las Piñas

The part of that paper I always read and which I always read first before anything else is the Sports Page. My interest lies there and I'm always thrilled every time I hear news regarding our varsity team in different sports. It also gives me the inspiration and the determination (to join) that team in the future.--Dexter Marius Z. Nubla, 12, UST-EHS, Manila

I would love to read our school paper if it would have the latest rumors and gossip about my (favorite) Hollywood star crushes, their upcoming movies and the coolest songs.--Aika Sibal, 12, Our Lady of Grace Academy, Caloocan City

Tips, tricks, cheats and codes for the lates PlayStation games.--Juan Paolo Jadaone, 11, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong

Latest news in the field of science and technology. Newest inventions of Filipinos and foreign personalities.--California Austin, 14, International Christian Academy, Parañaque

JI's Interview Crew: Jose Luise Abaya, Niña Alipio, Dianne Alonsagay, Adrian Dy, Antoinette Jadaone, Yoradyl Leobrera, Zandro Amiel Ochona, Xiomara Quiñones, and Ma. Zieryl Zoleta.
