Rotary Makati holds fund-raising bazaar
THE ROTARY CLUB OF Makati (tel. 8997863 to 65; fax 8990739) will have its annual Christmas Bazaar at the Renaissance Hotel (formerly New World Hotel) on Nov. 8. From 9 a.m.-6 p.m., shop for accessories, Christmas decor, antiques, jewelry, children’s clothes, men’s and ladies’ RTWs, linens and novelty items. Proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar this year will mainly help fund the Rotary Club of Makati’s efforts for the rehabilitation of the recent months’ flood victims. This will also support the Club’s other humanitarian projects, such as Medical Missions to the PGH, Save the Eye Outreach Program which provides free consultation and surgery for indigent eye patients, computer training for out-of-school youth, Books Across the Sea program which distributes books to public schools and libraries throughout the country and the community development project for the entire population of families in shanties near the NAIA terminal. A hallmark at every Rotary Club of Makati Christmas Bazaar is the Last Angel’s table where a Christmas tree will be filled with RC Makati “Angels” carrying the names of the indigent children one can adopt for Christmas. The Christmas Bazaar is organized by the Rotary Anns led by Tessie Amparo, wife of Rotary Club of Makati president, Felix Amparo. Co-chairpersons of the Rotary Christmas Bazaar are Mely Hechanova and Angel Quila. They are competently supported by the committee heads Caling Young, Irene Barcelon, Mimi Valerio, Pina Rojas, Terry Tambunting, Et Librea, Yvonne Kuan, Lu Limjoco, Vicky Cantada, Tere Boyer, Marilou Alejandro, Maureen Soong, Milette Carlos, Chit Marty, Menchit Ordoveza, Pam Manzano and Jojo Borromeo.
