Ara Mina was the first to show off her vocal wares, and she faltered, missing some notes but still finishing her brief number with a smile fixed on her face. Sunshine Cruz did better, hitting her high notes in a big, brassy way. Well, she's got the lungs for it. Priscilla Almeda got by with her soft, kittenish voice. As for Joyce Jimenez, she didn't sing at all, but she talked up a storm. Asked about the clampdown, she insisted that the movies she made weren't pornographic, and said she expected to make more movies. Sunshine candidly admitted that she's had to stop work on some hot projects. Priscilla said she would go by whatever the MTRCB decided, and Ara seconded the motion. All four sexy stars chorused, "Hindi kami malaswa sa totoong buhay!" Message received, loud and clear. An interesting question was asked: "Is it hard to get a good, loving man if you're a sexy star?" "Yes," sighed Ara, "most men look at sexy stars as sex objects." Joyce: "You don't know why they want to meet you--they may think you're easy to get, or they may want to ride on your popularity." Priscilla: "It's hard because your boyfriend's friends can come up to him and ask him why he allows you to do bold films." That went double for Sunshine: "Ang lalaki, may ego. Ayaw niyang sabihin ng ibang tao, 'Ang GF mo, bold star.''' So, what do the poor, little sexy stars do for a social life? "Ligaw, fine, but no commitment" was their safe reply. That, precisely, was the trouble with last week's show: the guests gave such safe answers to Sharon's "soft," polite questions that the program didn't really shed light on its chosen topic. It's one thing to respect even sexy star, but it's quite another to treat them with kid gloves.
