MANILA, Philippines – A small group of protesters attempted to cross the police line along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

The protesters, composed of members of Anakbayan-Pampanga, Anakpawis Partylist, Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas and Hacienda Luisita Worker’s Union, are calling for the junking of the Stock Distribution Option and Hacienda Luisita Referendum. The group also called for the distribution of the disputed Cojuanco-owned Hacienda Luisita.

The group was not allowed to go beyond the police barricade. They then began their program which they dubbed as the People’s State of the Nation.
