MANILA, Philippines – Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno on Thursday made a pitch anew for need to overhaul the 1987 Constitution, saying it should be responsive to the needs of the times.
Puno appeared at a Senate hearing Thursday with Constitution experts and other resources to tackle possible amendments to the charter.
Interviewed over Radyo Inquirer, Puno said that the present unitary form of government does not suit a nation that has many dialects, islands and multi-cultural.
