MANILA, Philippines--An accused in the 2007 Batasan blast has asked a Quezon City court to allow him to withdraw specified amounts from his Government Service Insurance System e-card for his family's use.

In a three page motion, accused Caidar Janang Aunal said he "is in dire need of financial means to feed" his school-aged children.

Aunal asked the Quezon City court to allow him to possess the e-card or at least authorize a representative to use it and withdraw money from it, under the court's terms and conditions.

The GSIS e-card is either in the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group or the state prosecutors in charge of the case, according to Aunal.

Aunal is currently detained at the Metro Manila District Jail in Taguig City but has a pending petition to be allowed to post bail.
