Dengue-free barangay continues info drives
Barangay Pahina San Nicolas in Cebu City has been dengue-free for sometime, and officials want to keep it that way.
Last Saturday, barangay officials launched a dengue-awareness campaign and announced the creation of a “Buster Team” to seek out and eliminate stagnant water, the breeding place of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
Barangay captain Antonio Caruzca said the launch, which featured a parade that featured a marching band and a giant mascot of a mosquito, sought to keep the barangay free of dengue, especially with the onset of the rainy season.
Caruzca said that consultations would soon follow in various sitios to make residents aware of the dengue threat. /Correspondent Chris A. Ligan
