UP centennial P100 notes launched

MANILA, Philippines -- The Oblation, the University of the Philippines’ (UP) icon, appears in a rare edition of P100 notes printed by the central bank to mark the 100th year anniversary of the country’s premier university.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and UP launched the P100 UP Centennial notes, expected to become a collector’s item, late Wednesday at the BSP Security Plant Complex in Quezon City.

The commemorative P100 notes are now available for sale at the UP Office of the Vice President for Administration as four-outs (four uncut pieces) in an especially designed folder featuring the signatures of all UP presidents including Roman.

Each folder with the four uncut pieces is P1,000 each.
