TEAM Unity townhall meetings to be modified--party execs

MANILA, Philippines -- The townhall meetings of TEAM Unity senatorial candidates will be modified for “bigger impact,” party officials said Tuesday.

Tourism Secretary Ace Durano said that starting next week, they would try a new strategy in which all 12 candidates would be present in one province and then spread out to conduct the “Pulong Sulong.”

"There's bigger impact if they're together," said Durano.

Reli German, TEAM Unity’s campaign manager, said the new set-up was one of the options being studied to improve campaign strategy.

German said the townhall meetings were being modified because the campaign period for local officials was due to begin this month.

He added that the campaign sorties of TEAM Unity should be coordinated with the local candidates because it would be difficult to organize them when the local campaigns begin.

The current set-up divides the 12 candidates into three teams of four each. Each team is assigned to conduct “Pulong Sulong” in one province per region every week. And in the province, each candidate goes to one town where the meeting with local officials is held.
