Rivals face polls case

POLITICAL tension further escalated in Makati City after disqualification charges were filed yesterday against three rival politicians, including Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay and his daughter Abigail, who is running for Congress. Claiming to be concerned residents of the city, three people filed separate complaints against the Binays as well as against congressional candidate Erwin Genuino, who is running against Abigail. Commission on Elections National Capital Region Director Michael Dioneda said Genuino is facing a disqualification case for his allegedly oversized posters and alleged vote-buying. Abigail is facing a disqualification case for allegedly using government cars during her campaign. A disqualification case was also filed against the Makati mayor for allegedly harassing residents pasting Genuino posters on their houses. Edson C. Tandoc Jr.
