Alleged Pampanga rebel charged in Neri house shooting
MANILA, Philippines – An alleged rebel based in Pampanga has been charged for strafing on the house of Social Security System president Romulo Neri two weeks ago.
In an affidavit, Neri named the rebel as a certain Daniel Joseph Navarro of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan, and several other John Does as the ones responsible for the shooting.
Navarro and the other unidentified respondents are also facing robbery, serious illegal detention, and car theft charges for commandeering two Hyundai vans prior to the strafing.
Several armed men in camouflage uniforms peppered Neri’s house on Palali Street in Barangay (village) Siena in Quezon City on October 9. Neri was taking a shower inside his house when the incident happened.
