It's official, the Alpha Kappa Rho fraternity will be performing in the Sinulog Grand Parade.

Of the 44 hopefuls, Akrho was the last contingent to be approved by the Sinulog Foundation Inc. to join the free interpretation category of the parade.

Ricky Ballesteros, executive director of SFI, said they approved Akrho's participation after watching the fraternity’s rehearsal last Thursday.

If rated, the performance will get a grade of 75 percent, said Ballesteros.

Ballesteros said he expects the group to perform better in the actual competetion.

After seeing the costumes of the dancers, they advised the group to add more accessories.
Ballesteros said they reached an agreement with the fraternity that its members should not create trouble during the event.

Cebu City police earlier agreed to give Akrho police escorts.

Richard Buscayno, Akrho’s regional chapter president, assured that fraternity members will avoid causing trouble.

He said that it is a dream come true for the fraternity to be a part of a religious and festive event.

Buscayno said Akrho's contingent has 70 dancers and their instrumentalists are all members of the fraternity.

Buscayno said P300,000 was set aside as budget for their costume and other expenses.

He said a member of the group based in Hongkong flew in to choreograph their dance.
