KALIBO, Aklan--The province of Aklan has placed the damage it suffered from typhoon "Frank" (international codename: Fengshen) at over P750 million.

Aklan Gov. Carlito Marquez said on Thursday agriculture and infrastructure losses reached P765 million even as the province reported 57 dead, 137 injured and four missing.

The governor said the entire province did not have power, four days after Frank struck and landlines were still down.

Funds are being sought for the rehabilitation of the Aklan Electric Cooperative facilities.

Kalibo has yet to receive assistance except for the bottled water given by Sen. Manuel Roxas II to Kalibo residents, according to local officials. The Kalibo Water District remained unsafe for drinking due to leaks in the water district's distribution system.

Kalibo Mayor Raymar Rebaldo also disclosed that mudflows have displaced over 1,320 families and affected businesses in the capital town.

Rebaldo said the mudflows came from the neighboring towns of Libacao and Madalag.

Meanwhile, 34 bodies, 24 of them confirmed to be those of crewmembers of fishing vessels from Negros Occidental, have been found between Masbate and Romblon.

Of the 34 found, 32 were on a Philippine Coast Guard Bacolod list furnished the Philippine Daily Inquirer (parent company of INQUIRER.net) Wednesday night by Lt. Commander Edgar Ybañez, while the two others were from the crew of CYC Fish Venture.

The Coast Guard report also disclosed that of the 277 crewmembers from Negros Occidental, 135 survivors have been found while 110 were still missing.
