AN ADMINISTRATION congressman is seeking the dismissal of Pasig Mayor Vicente Eusebio for his “incompetence” during the February stampede in his city that killed at least 70 people.

Pasig Representative Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr said the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) should immediately impose administrative sanctions recommended by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against Eusebio.

He said the report, which the NBI submitted to the Department of Justice on March 8, found the city mayor liable “for lack of foresight” when he issued the show permit for “Wowowee,” a noontime game show of ABS-CBN television network.

“Once the DILG received the report, with this alone, motu propio, they can act,” said Jaworski, who also questioned why the NBI report was released only recently when it was submitted to the DoJ as early as March.

Jaworski then urged the Office of the Ombudsman to suspend public officials facing administrative and criminal cases within 24 days or before the six-month election ban against suspension, transfer, or re-assignment of government officials which takes effect on November 14.
