2 ‘Alabang Boys’ to move to Camp Bagong Diwa
MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE) Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero ordered the transfer of Alabang boys Richard Brodette and Jorge Joseph to Camp Bagong Diwa.
The two were originally detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) detention along with fellow Alabang Boys Joseph Tecson, who was transferred last April 20 to the Quezon City Jail.
The lower court set a May 14 hearing (not May 15 as earlier reported) for the arraignment of Joseph and a pre-trial conference for Brodette.
Only Brodette pleaded not guilty to charges of violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act while Joseph filed a motion questioning the finding of probable cause against him.
The court opted to resolve Joseph’s motion first before his arraignment.
Earlier, the Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered the dismissal of the case against the three, but allegations of bribery prompted President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to form a panel to conduct an investigation.
Upon submission of the panel's recommendation, Malacanang ordered that charges against the three be filed in court.
