MANILA, Philippines -- A chemist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) testified before a Quezon City court that the items seized from one of the so-called “Alabang Boys” tested positive for drugs.

Chemist Ronna Mae Aguilon said on Monday that the recovered drugs from Joseph Tecson were positive for cocaine and diazepam.

Government lawyers want to block a petition for bail filed by Tecson, who was arrested in September 2008 in Cubao, Quezon City, for allegedly peddling illegal drugs to PDEA agents.

Tecson, along with Richard Brodett and Jorge Joseph, were dubbed the "Alabang Boys" for their supposed drug activities inside the posh subdivision.

Justice department prosecutors initially recommended the dropping of charges due to lack of evidence. But Malacañang ordered the re-filing of charges against the three after PDEA agents accused government prosecutors of accepting bribes.

Assistant city prosecutor Gibson Araula said he would present another chemist who would testify on the results of urine tests conducted on the accused.

Araula told reporters he would also bring two arresting officers, Louie Valdez and Julie Tejido, to the next hearing.

Tecson has pleaded "not guilty" to drug possession and peddling charges before Judge Jaime Salazar of the Quezon City regional trial court Branch 103, who ordered his transfer to the Quezon City Jail.

Brodett, likewise, pleaded "not guilty" before a Muntinlupa City court.

The third suspect, Joseph has not been arraigned. There is a pending a motion to dismiss the charges against him.

Drug possession or section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 allows a possible bail of P200,000, but drug peddling is a non-bailable offense.
