MANILA, Philippines -- Tropical depression "Lando" (international codename: Hagibis) is on the way out after making a brief sweep of the Mindoro provinces and the Bicol Region Tuesday night, according to the weather bureau.

At 4 a.m. Wednesday, Lando was located 90 kilometers north of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour and was moving east northeast at 24 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.

But public storm signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay and Catanduanes, the PAGASA said.

Lando is forecast to be 600 kilometers northeast of Virac on Thursday, 1,020 km northeast of Virac on Friday and 1,360 km northeast of Virac or 740 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan on Saturday, the weather bureau said.

Expected to join Lando on its way to the Philippine Sea is tropical depression "Mina" (international codename: Mitag), which continued moving slowly southeast, the PAGASA said.

At 4 a.m., Mina was sighted 320 km east southeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum winds of 55 kph and is expected to be 380 km east southeast of the same area on Thursday, the weather bulletin added.

Though an active low pressure area was sighted some 1,400 km east of northern Luzon, senior weather specialist Robert Sawi earlier said there was no possibility for it to hit land.
