MANILA—Coach Pido Jarencio got his way this time as Max Bond Super Glue rolled past Café France, 83-62, yesterday to barge into the win column in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Adamson Gym in Manila.
Rudy Lingganay and Reil Cervantes led the scoring splurge in the second half for the Sumos who rebounded from a lopsided 61-82 drubbing at the hands of Maynilad last week.
Lingganay, who starred as an import for the Kuala Lumpur Dragons in the Asean Basketball League, pumped in 23 points on top of four rebounds and six assists.
“They (players) had their way last time, and obviously, we got routed,” Jarencio said.
PC Gilmore also picked up its first victory as the Wizards held Freego Jeans scoreless in the final two minutes for an 81-72 decision in the second game.
Carlo Lastimosa drilled five of the Wizards’ last 11 points to finish with 20 markers, three rebounds, three assists and a couple of steals.
“We’re more organized than our last game,” said PC Gilmore coach Richard del Rosario of the Ave Relucio-owned team. “We denied their shooters.”
