MANILA---The 2011 PBA All-Star Weekend will be more than just a hoops showcase in Boracay.
A number of activities have been calendared in the five-day festivities dubbed “Hala Bola!” including an outreach program, a fashion show, fun games on the beach and basketball clinics, as the league brings the action closer to the fans.
The main event of the five-day event dubbed “Hala Bola!”—the North versus South All-Star game—is scheduled Sunday at the Boracay Eco-Village Resort and Convention Center.
The league will hold its outreach program “Alagang PBA” on Carabao Island on Thursday, where players will initiate mangrove tree-planting, coastal cleanup, basketball court painting and visit a hospital.
Boracay Mayor John Yap will join the PBA delegation on its way to Carabao Island, where Mayor Fil Tandog will welcome the entourage.
The fashion show, featuring PBA players and 15 candidates of the Mutya ng Pilipinas, will highlight the festivities Thursday night, after the beach games at Station 2.
The Supertite Super Glue “Hug of War,” a takeoff from the tug-of-war where teams will be composed of PBA players, Mutya candidates and tourists, the Rain or Shine Relay, and 3-on-3 volleyball will be among the fun beach games set on Thursday.
