MANILA, Philippines – Many have noticed actress’ Anne Curtis’ full, luscious lips that has made her the “Angelina Jolie of the Philippines”. Her trademark look – that is “nothing but red lipstick” – has made many women born with full lips feel more blessed for the bigger smile they can share to the world.
This is why it isn’t surprising why direct selling beauty company, Avon, chose Curtis as the new face for their latest lipstick line, the Avon Shine Attract.
Sharing the same belief of empowering women, plus, of course, her personal love for lipsticks, Curtis said being the newest addition to the Avon Family was a “dream come true.”
“It’s a dream come true for me to be working with Avon because I love that it represents women empowerment and I am all for that,” she said, adding that it was easy to accept Avon’s offer even when she had been wanting to have her own lipstick line.
More so, Curtis said lipstick was very important for women because aside from clothes, a good lip color was another thing that could jazz up one’s look for an evening out, or for a meeting in the day.
“It’s something that you have to have in your purse. Two shades, one for the evening and one for everyday purposes,” she said.
But as Avon will say, “Why just color when you can shine?”
To Curtis, it is important to use a product that combines color and shine, like Avon Shine Attract lipstick, because as cliché as it may sound, she said it added extra shine to one’s life and an instant change to one’s look.
Avon said its newest lipstick line was expertly formulated to provide women with the perfect balance of lavish color and delicate shine in each swipe – leaving lips with intense color, and a satiny shine with its shine-infusing clear gel enriched with Vitamin A, E and SPF 15.
For Avon Senior Vice President and President for Asia Pacific, Bob M. Briddon, Curtis’ lips are just one of the factors that has made her a perfect fit for the brand.
Briddon said Curtis “is a TV host, actress, model, and now singer . . . who fearlessly ventures into new fields, and succeeds with unparalleled flair. In short, she’s the total package, just like this new revolutionary lipstick from Avon.”
But while her trademark red lipstick has strongly influenced a lot of women to wear it as well, Curtis reminded them to not simply go for a color just because it is a trend.
“Go for what you feel comfortable in. Go and try everything until you find the perfect one for you,” she said.
And when you finally find it, “fall inlove with it and make it your trademark.”
From among the 10 exciting shades of Avon Shine Attract lipsticks from natural nudes to shout-out hues, Curtis said her favorite color, was of course, the Passionate Red.
Answering the question “why” with a big smile, Curtis said “I’m very passionate about my singing, about my acting, about my hosting, about my friends and family. I’m a very, very passionate person.”
Nine other colors include Rose Pink, Guava, Happy Pink, Cherry Pie, Fuchsia Flare, Mysterious Mauve, Caressing Coral, Fever, and Orchid for P399 each.
Avon Shine Attract lipsticks will be available exclusively through Avon representatives nationwide beginning May 1.
