One day ahead of the appeal hearing for the jailed Russian punk band Pussy Riot, Amnesty International says the group are 'prisoners of conscience' and a symbol of change in Russia. Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich were convicted in August of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred, and sentenced to two years in a prison camp. AFP
