More attempt to leave

01:17 PM February 24, 2011

THE current political situation in the Philippines has triggered a steady departure from Manila.

Those who left from the Manila International Airport last Sunday were government officials, businessmen, and others who didn’t to be trapped in Manila.

Late unconfirmed reports also mentioned the departure of the prominent Tantoco family, owners of Rustan’s department store, and that of Roman Cruz Jr. of Philippine Air Lines.

There were also unconfirmed reports that MP Arturo Pacificador and Ambassador Benjamin “Kokoy” Romualdez with their families are besieged at the Manila International Airport this morning as they attempted to board a plane out of the country.
