The sun was already up, and the roads around España Boulevard were already cleared of floods earlier Thursday when I decided to take a few snaps of Typhoon Carina’s aftermath around the area. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over parts of Batanes as Typhoon Carina (International name: Gaemi) slightly intensified, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday.
In its 11:00 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said Itbayat, Basco, Mahatao, Uyugan, and Ivana in Batanes are under Signal No. 2.

Ten areas in Luzon are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 on Tuesday as Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) maintained its strength, according to state meteorologists.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its early morning update, said Carina was spotted some 380 kilometers east-northeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

Tropical storm Carina (international name: Gaemi) slightly intensified while moving east of Casiguran, Aurora, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Based on its latest cyclone update, Pagasa said Carina was last spotted 490 kilometers east of Casiguran in Aurora, carrying maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 90 kph.
