MANILA, Philippines — Dr. Liza Ong, wife of cancer-stricken senatorial hopeful Dr. Willie Ong, filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) for her husband on Thursday.
In tears, she presented Willie’s COC before the media at the Manila Hotel’s Tent City. She, however, refused to answer media queries, leaving the task to her husband’s legal counsel Atty. Gilbert Lauengco.
“In so far as his health condition is concerned, he will be able to go back to the Philippines by [the] end of November and he will be able to physically campaign by December,” said Lauengco, adding that Ong was told by his doctors that his condition is treatable.
