Environmental lawyer files COC for Bohol 1st district congressman
TAGBILARAN CITY- Environmental lawyer Jordan Pizarras on Saturday filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Bohol first district representative under the Aksyon Demokratiko party.
Pizarras, also known as “The Tigpanalipud” (The Defender), was accompanied by his wife Dr. Marivic Marcelo-Pizarras and supporters in filing his COC.
“It has been a long time that the Bol-anons have no protector. Today’s Boholanos always feel oppressed. I was in Manila for four decades protecting big companies and individuals, now I see Boholanos who deserve protection. I now offer myself to serve in the first district of Bohol as the representative of the first district,” said Pizarras shortly after filing his COC.
His decision to run stems from witnessing the injustices faced by the underprivileged in Bohol.
“Justice should not only be for the rich, but for everyone, regardless of economic status,” he said.

In a district traditionally dominated by seasoned politicians, Pizarras is positioning himself as the voice of the underrepresented and marginalized.
His fight for justice, environmental sustainability, and social equality could very well shape the dynamics of this highly anticipated race for Bohol’s first district Congressional seat.
Throughout his legal career, Pizarras has successfully represented top corporations, defended landmark cases in the Supreme Court, and worked on pro-bono cases for NGOs, religious groups, and the disenfranchised.
His career highlights include quashing billion-peso tax claims, winning environmental cases under the Writ of Kalikasan including the case against the Barangay Officials of Bil-isan, Panglao, and securing favorable rulings in corporate disputes.
His work reflects a commitment to both corporate and social justice.
