ACT Teachers Party-list files Cona for House reelection
MANILA, Philippines — ACT Teachers Party-list is seeking reelection in the House of Representatives as its candidates filed their certificates of nomination and acceptance (Cona) on Sunday.
The party-list is fielding 10 nominees under the Makabayan coalition, with former representative Antonio Tino as the first nominee, Helene Dimaukom as the second nominee, and Dr. David Michael San Juan as the third nominee.
“Ngayon at sa hinaharap, maaasahan po ninyo na maipagpapatuloy ng ACT Teachers ang magiting na pagtindig para sa mga guro, kawani at mamamayan,” Tinio said in the national convention of Makabayan coalition on September 28.

“Sa tulong ninyo, muli nating ikampanya at ipanalo ang ACT Teachers sa Kongreso sa 2025,” Tinio added.

Article continues after this advertisementThe party-list is pushing for wage increases such as P50,000 salary grade 11 for teacher 11 and P30,000 for entry-level government employees.
They said the salary increase for all government workers under the Executive Order No. 64 does not guarantee is not a livable rate.

The party-list’s incumbent representative is France Castro, who filed her certificate of candidacy for senator on Friday.
Castro, a teacher, also vows to push for the rights and welfare of teachers, once elected in the Senate.
Candidates of two more party-lists under the coalition, Bayan Muna and Gabriela, filed their Cona on Tuesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, the senatorial aspirants of the coalition filed their certificates of candidacy on Friday.
