Ex-Comelec exec Guanzon guns for House seat to represent PWDs
MANILA, Philippines — Former Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon is gunning for a seat in the House of Representatives to represent persons with disabilities (PWD).
Wheelchair-bound Guanzon filed on Sunday the certificate of nomination and acceptance (Cona) for P3PWD party-list.

In the 2022 polls, the P3PWD secured 391,174 votes.
Article continues after this advertisementAll of its original nominees submitted their resignation or withdrawal to the Comelec to give way to Guanzon.
Guanzon faced a challenge when the Duterte Youth party-list filed a petition questioning her nomination before the Supreme Court, noting that her application was filed only after the deadline. The SC then issued a temporary restraining order on the former Comelec commissioner’s substitution bid.
