Erwin Tulfo vows to focus on middle class if elected senator
MANILA, Philippines — ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo on Sunday said he would prioritize the welfare of middle-class Filipinos should he win a seat in the Senate.
He made the pronouncement after filing his certificate of candidacy at the Manila Hotel.
“We always forget the one in the middle, ‘yung mga middle class or mga uring manggagawa–nakakalimutan minsan o kadalasan naiiwan kasi naka-focus ang sentro ng government ngayon sa mga nasa laylayan,” he said.

“Siguro it’s time we also looked out sa mga kababayan natin na hindi masyado napapansin, ‘yung mga nasa middle, ‘yung sinisigaw nila na higher wages, mga more benefits and I will also introduce, if there’s a chance, mga retirement benefits ng mga nagta-trabaho sa private sector,” he added.

Tulfo said he and his brothers—Senator Raffy Tulfo and Ben Tulfo, who is also running for a senator—share the same goals, especially helping the poor.
Asked if this means he and his brothers will have the same stand on most issues, Erwin responded in the affirmative.
“Doon patungo ‘yon eh, dahil iisa lang naman ang layunin namin (that’s where it leads to, we all have the same goals),” he said.
