3 former mayors in Zamboanga del Sur seek comeback
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Former mayors of Labangan and Dumalinao towns in the province filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) on Sunday to seek a comeback to their former posts.
Zamboanga del Sur Vice Governor Ace William Cerilles, who served as Dumalinao mayor for three terms from 2007 to 2016, filed his COC for mayor.
Cerilles’ wife, Junaflor, is the incumbent mayor and she will vie for the gubernatorial post in the 2025 elections.
The Vice Governor is the son of Antonio Cerilles, the representative of the 2nd district of Zamboanga del Sur. Rep. Cerilles’ wife, Aurora, also served as governor and the representative of the 2nd district from 1997 to 2001.
Former mayor Wilson Nandang of Labangan town is also seeking a comeback. He filed his COC at the Comelec office here on Sunday.

On Saturday, Bayog town’s former mayor and 2nd District Representative Leonardo Babasa Jr. also filed his COC for mayor.
