MANILA, Philippines — The last batch of automated counting machines (ACMs) from South Korea may arrive in the Philippines in the second week of November, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner George Erwin Garcia said on Wednesday.
According to Garcia, the manufacturing of the remaining ACMs by Miru Systems will be completed this week.
“This week, the 110,000 ACMs in South Korea will be finished… This means Miru Systems will finish manufacturing, until tomorrow, the remainder of the 110,000 ACMs to be shipped out from Korea to the Philippines,” he said in Filipino in a press briefing.

Garcia also said Comelec spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco and other officials from the Education Information Department went to South Korea to document the manufacturing of the remaining ACMs.
“The recent news is that all of the machines will be here by the second week of November,” he added.
The poll body chief said 80,000 out of 110,000 ACMs committed by Miru Systems are already in the country.
Miru Systems initially committed to completing the delivery of the machines by December.
“If it happens, our machines will be now completed, so we will proceed with the testing,” Garcia said in Filipino.
Comelec started the hardware acceptance testing for the ACMs in September. Garcia previously said the machines are undergoing tests to check if the hardware components are working properly.
