Comelec urges public to scrutinize bets after posting COCs, Conas

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday published in its official website the certificate of candidacies of senators and the certificate of nomination and acceptance (Cona) of party-list groups.

However, parts of the COCs of 66 senators and Conas of 166 party-list groups were redacted in compliance with the Data Privacy Act.

To access this data, visit the Comelec website at comelec.gov.ph and go to the “Elections” button, then click the “2025 National and Local Elections” option.

Then, look at the “Contents List” located at the website’s right side, then click the “Redacted COC, Cona & Con-Can” option.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia said this move was done so the public could scrutinize the COCs and Conas of the aspirants bets.

Over 44,000 aspirants lodged their COCs nationwide.

Garcia, however, said only the COCs of senatorial candidates and Cona of party-list groups were uploaded for now, before the gradual upload of COCs of local political aspirants.

The poll body made this unprecedented move to prevent dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo’s material misrepresentation case from happening again, according to Garcia.
