Comelec: 12 more bets file COCs for BARRM polls
MANILA, Philippines — Twelve more aspirants for a seat in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARRM) filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) on Wednesday, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said as of 5:00 p.m., nine more aspirants in Lanao Del Sur filed COCs while three more lodged their intent to run in Maguindanao Del Norte.
No new aspirants were recorded in Tawi-tawi, Basilan, and Maguindanao del Sur, according to Garcia.

In total, there were 26 COC filers so far.
Garcia said 25 of them are for district representatives, while the rest are for regional parliamentary political parties.
Article continues after this advertisementAbout 65 seats are up for grabs for the upcoming autonomous polls, of which 25 are allotted for parliamentary district representatives. The rest are reserved for regional parliamentary political parties, similar to the party-list system.
