INQUIRER.net partners with GMA Network in Eleksyon 2025 coverage
MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) and over 50 media organizations, election watchdogs, telecommunications companies, academic institutions, and socio-civic groups on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with GMA Network for the 2025 elections coverage.
The Inquirer Group of Companies, represented by INQUIRER.net Editor-in-Chief Abelardo Ulanday and Philippine Daily Inquirer Associate Publisher Juliet Javellana, were among the media partners in GMA Network’s upcoming election coverage.
“The Philippine Daily Inquirer, INQUIRER.net, and GMA Network have been partners for more than a decade, covering pivotal presidential elections as well as midterm polls. It is an important partnership because the credibility of elections is vital if we are to have integrity in our government and institutions and stability in our country. So the more media organizations, civil society, academic institutions, and election watchdogs we have, the better to ensure the sanctity of the ballot,” Javellana told INQUIRER.net on Monday.
She added that in these challenging times, especially amid disinformation, the media is critical in empowering people through accurate information and upholding genuine democracy.
Meanwhile, Ulanday underscored that close coordination and cooperation among media organizations is crucial for the upcoming elections.
