Comelec: Gun ban violators rise to 25; 1,411 checkpoints set
MANILA, Philippines — The total number of gun ban violators climbed from six to 25 on the second day of the 150-day election period, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) chief George Erwin Garcia.

No further details were made available regarding these new violators.
The gun ban began on January 11 and will last until June 12, which is after the May 12 polls.
Garcia also said there were 1,411 designated checkpoints manned by Philippine National Police personnel nationwide.
