LOOK: Makabayan bets visit schools, hold house-to-house campaign

MANILA, Philippines — As the campaign season starts, senatorial candidates ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro and Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas began visiting schools and houses in Manila and Quezon City.
On Tuesday early morning, the two Makabayan party senatorial candidates, along with seven others, launched their campaign for this year’s polls at the Kartilya ng Katipunan near the Manila City Hall.
Following their short gathering, members of the Makabayan slate began their campaign-related activities in different assignment areas.
For her part, Castro visited the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, where she earned her master’s degree in Mathematics Education.
She also dropped by the Philippine Normal University, where she finished a degree in Mathematics.
The lawmaker will also visit Ramon Magsaysay High School, Arellano High School, Padre Gomez Elementary School and Legarda Elementary School.
Meanwhile, Brosas conducted a house-to-house campaign in a residential area along Litex-Commonwealth in Quezon City.
She handed out fliers and purple artificial roses to residents and vendors in the area, while her supporters introduced her to the public.

Former Gabriela Partylist Rep. Liza Maza, who is also a former chairperson of the National Anti-Poverty Commission
The nine Makabayan senatorial candidates, including Castro and Brosas, are expected to gather at Plaza Noli in Manila at 4 p.m.
On the other hand, Maza and Lidasan are in Cagayan de Oro, holding their own campaigns.
