DAVAO DEL NORTE — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday is not yet done with his tirades against former chief executive Rodrigo Duterte.
Marcos responded in jest to Duterte’s remark during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas rally here at the bailiwick of his predecessor.
“Narinig lang natin noong isang araw, siguro wala silang pag-asa kaya papatay na lang sila ng 15 senador,” Marcos said in his speech.
(We just heard the other day, maybe they stand no chance that’s why they’ll just have to kill 15 senators.)

“Sa bagay, ang mahirap sa isang tao, ang kaisa-isang solusyon sa lahat ng problema ay pumatay sa isang Pilipino,” he added.
(On the other hand, the problem with this person, the only solution he has in every problem is to kill a Filipino.)

Duterte on Thursday made a grim remark about killing 15 senators to make way for the nine-man senatorial slate he is backing.
Pulse Asia’s latest senatorial survey stated that only two of senators under Duterte—reelectionists Ronald Dela Rosa and Bong Go—made it to the Magic 12.
On the other hand, 10 of senatorial candidates under Marcos’ made it to the list.
The administration bloc is fielding Senate reelectionists Pia Cayetano, Imee Marcos, Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla, and Francis Tolentino; former senators Vicente Sotto III, Panfilo Lacson; House lawmakers Deputy Speaker Camille Villar and ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo; and former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos; and Makati city mayor Abby Binay.
Only Abalos and Tolentino were not included in Pulse Asia’s “probable winners.”
“Alam niyo po kung minsan nakikita natin ‘yung ibang partido—nagugulat sila, natatakot yata sila sa inyo dahil pagka nakita ang lineup ng Alyansa eh kung ano-ano na ang sinasabi,” Marcos said of the Alyansa slate.
(You know sometimes, when we see the other parties—they were shocked and worried about you because when they see the lineup of Alyansa, they just be saying anything.)
Four of the candidates, namely, Sen. Marcos, Cayetano, Lacson and Villar, skipped this rally.
